SWM are the first company in the UK to take receipt of a new state-of-the-art Lefort Conkest 500.

SWM Director Shawn Akers said, “The space saving design makes it ideal for processing a variety of materials and metal products. This additional equipment will aid in further facilitating the processing of scrap metals and end of life vehicles ready for direct sales to end users.”

The Lefort Conkest 500 shear and baler is remotely operated and has an impressive 500 Mt sheer force. It is more compact, shorter in length, lighter & easier to re-site with a smaller engine making it more cost effective to run. It uses less fuel and is more environmentally friendly than its predecessors.

Shawn Akers added “Despite recent difficult trading conditions, we have continued to invest in plant, equipment and infrastructure in order to meet the waste management needs of our customers without compromising the environmental needs of the future.”

Dave Chapman Sales Director for Lefort UK commented “The Lefort Conkest 500 was launched at the Recycling & Waste Management show at the NEC in Birmingham in September 2014. This is the first of this model to be sold in the UK. It is the second new Lefort sheer purchased by SWM in the last 18 months, having previously purchased a mobile 600 sheer for their South Molton depot, also the first of its type in the UK.”

SWMs commitment to developing its Bideford Depot and vehicle ‘Super Centre’ is further evidenced by this £320k investment.
