Keep Our Sites Safe!

Following the fire at our Bideford site, everyone at SWM would like to extend our sincere thanks to our team for their quick actions in securing the area and ensuring everyone remained safe.

We would also like to thank the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, whose rapid response helped bring the fire under control and prevent further damage.

Sadly, the fire is believed to have been caused by a lithium battery that made its way into the yard. This serves as an important reminder that lithium batteries are strictly prohibited at all SWM sites. They pose a serious fire risk and must never be placed in general waste or recycling.

Finally, we'd like to thank our neighbouring businesses and trades for their support, patience, and assistance during the incident.
