Expanding Fleet

Despite recent difficult trading conditions, we have continued to invest in plant, equipment and infrastructure in order to meet the waste management needs of our customers without compromising the environmental needs of the future.

During 2013 we invested in a new conveyor at our Roundswell Depot to feed our Excel Twin Ram Baler with cardboard, plastics, films and paper, whilst 2014 has seen further investment in a range of state-of-the-art environmentally responsible vehicles to meet the challenges of the growing economy.

SWM Director Shawn Akers said, “ Continual investment is critical in allowing us to reduce our carbon footprint and manage our fleet efficiently. Our customers expect and deserve excellent service at the best possible prices and we work hard to deliver this”.

The fleet has recently been extended to include a new Curtain sider, Ro-Ro lorry and skip lorry and together with an ongoing program of bin and skip refurbishments and updated vehicle livery. Investment has exceeded £¼ million.
