Four enhance their skills via training
Four employees at SWM have achieved qualifications recognising their team leading and customer service skills.
Kerry Agnew and Nathan Gatting both attained NVQ level 2 Customer Service, while Orry Winchcombe and Ryan Pearcy achieved NVQ Level 2 Team Leading.
Orry said "I really enjoyed the training and I am looking forward to opportunities to take up more training in future. It was hard work but worthwhile."
The traing was provided by Ubiquitous Concepts and is the beginning of a campaign by SWM to train and develop its entire workforce over a two year period.

Aims to remove the rewards and increase risk for metal thieves
With effect from 3rd December 2012
The Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 received Royal Assent on 1 May 2012. This legislation sets out changes to the Scrap Metal Dealers Act 1964 that currently regulates the scrap metal industry. The changes are designed to remove the rewards that make metal theft a low risk criminal enterprise for metal thieves and unscrupulous dealers.
Waste firm puts recycling at the heart of the community
RECYCLING metal is becoming more lucrative as the cost of materials increases and its availability decreases, but often it makes the headlines for the wrong reasons. Family-run SWM has been in this business since 1959 and has been working closely with the police to help tackle metal theft. The company, which provides a comprehensive range of waste and recycling services, is preparing for the introduction of new laws in December which will outlaw cash for scrap.
CLIC Fund Raising
During the afternoon of Saturday 21st July SWM, the regions leading waste and recycling company held a fund raising company barbecue in aid of CLIC Sargent North Devon.
The SWM directors provided the venue at the Roundswell Head Office together with live music and refreshments. Staff from South Molton Metals, South West Metals and Waste Recycling and Kirton Recycling were all invited.
New Wheelie Bin Service
