Working in partnership with The North Devon Show

Working in partnership with The North Devon Show

We are very proud to once again not only attend, but also to be the waste services contractor for the North Devon Show in August this year. This year’s show seemed busier than ever and even stayed dry for most of the day! The great success of the event was due to the extraordinary work carried out behind the scenes by the show organisers whom we were thrilled to aid.

New state-of-the-art Lefort Conkest 500

SWM are the first company in the UK to take receipt of a new state-of-the-art Lefort Conkest 500.

SWM Director Shawn Akers said, “The space saving design makes it ideal for processing a variety of materials and metal products.  This additional equipment will aid in further facilitating the processing of scrap metals and end of life vehicles ready for direct sales to end users.”

Employers can benefit from untapped talent

An event in Barnstaple has revealed that North Devon employers are ignoring a pool of hidden talent on their doorstep.

Untapped Talent was organised by Devon County Council and North Devon+ at a North Devon Manufacturers Association breakfast to encourage more employers to tap into talent offered by individuals with learning difficulties.

Expanding Fleet

New fleet

Despite recent difficult trading conditions, we have continued to invest in plant, equipment and infrastructure in order to meet the waste management needs of our customers without compromising the environmental needs of the future.

During 2013 we invested in a new conveyor at our Roundswell Depot to feed our Excel Twin Ram Baler with cardboard, plastics, films and paper, whilst 2014 has seen further investment in a range of state-of-the-art environmentally responsible vehicles to meet the challenges of the growing economy.
